Snowed in? Looking for a book recommendation that is not going to rack the prefrontal cortex of the brain? Here are a few of my favorites:
- The Old Man and The Boy: Robert Ruark hits a home run in this North Carolina classic! Originally, Ruark wrote for articles for Field & Stream under this title, and then ultimately compiled all of his articles into this book.
- The Art of Manliness: After several attempts from our Student Small Groups Pastor to get me to buy the book, I finally caved…and am so glad I did. Funny, witty, engaging, you name it. Make sure you don’t take this book as the “bible” for manhood. That place is found in…well, yes, the bible!
- Satchel: I love baseball, I love history, and I loved reading up on Satchel Paige. This book provides interesting insight into the story that was taking place alongside the grand story of Jackie Robinson breaking the color barrier in professional baseball.
- Huntings Best Short-Stories: The title is self explanatory.
